Yes folks tell us what your favorite moment of this was. There were many of these songs I hadn’t heard in forever which was just fine by me. By far and wide thought my favorite moment of the performance was Ed McMahon. if I had to pick a top song from him though it has to be Fresh Prince of Bell Air since he was just so hopelessly out of character.

No, it isn’t really the president, but Will Ferrell acts just like the dumb ass. That however is the real John Stewart, and not an actor impersonating him. if there is one thing I miss about not having cable, it is having John Stewart on my TV.

What could go together better that food, engineers, and cats, except maybe substituting bloggers for engineers. Are first video presentation has the two things every engineer wants, food someone else cooked and a lightsaber. Even engineers who prefer Trek to Wars still want a lightsaber, because of just how damned cool they are. They will even occasionally though reluctantly admit a lightsaber wielding padawan could probably outmatch any angry batliff wielding Klingon.
The second piece is an engineers guide to cats. yes, they really are engineers and give fine engineering answers to questions concerning cats. Barry approved of this film and even came away from the window long enough to watch it.

The only film I am going to show you is “No Trespassing” written by fellow blogger Holly of Menstrual Poetry.
In her own words, “This film is about child abuse, healing and having the courage to let go of your past and move on to a much brighter future.” It is a subject as a parent and survivor I take to heart. It is a good piece of work from the snippet we can watch and I look forward to the rest in May.
On a Completely different note we will switch from abuse which is often sexual in nature to the epitome of sexuality, vampires. Dimension X, distributed by Underground Film, is a campy little animated film about vampire attacks and political scandals which really are that different. It has it all famous celebrity woman, idiot love interest, who i think might be gay, money, mindless violence, and some WTF to go along with it. It was a film that deserves to be watched at least once. At this point I am unsure whether it would be better or scarier with some mind altering substances. I’ll come back to it the next time a doctor wants me to play around with anti-psychotics.
More on the undead theme from underground Film is Evil Undead Girlfriend. It is a wonderful black and white 1950-ish silly horror film, about you guessed it a evil undead girlfriend. The music is delightful and fit the film wonderfully. It is so much more than a good two and a half minute fun fest, because you will have to watch it at least twice for full full enjoyment! I particularly like the inclusion of the a White Bronco driven by a criminal…
If there is a film you would like me to include in a future post drop me a note on the contact form above.

It has been quite a while since I had heard this classic Dr Demento Classic and I have to give a shout out to Ryan Nichole for finding this animated treasure.
To go along with this classic I had to find Squirrels by the Beastly Boys. I found what looked like a bad VHS dub of the original video, but I am not including it because even i have standards of decency. So I included a two other squirrel bits. The song to a different fan vid, and Squirrel Porn

Refinding Liquid Generation and Suck My News has been like the find of the great ring. I don’t exactly know why I quit going to LG, but somehow it escaped my attention for far too long. if you are new to LG then you are either in fro a treat, a shock or will be writing me nasty comments to show your outrage that I thought this was ulitmately funny. Either way, LG is a great way to spend some time and avoid the work you should be doing, even if it isn’t quite work safe.

I was just about to turn this off when the phone rang I hit the mute button on my computers When I looked back up we were adding more and more girls up until I was going WTF. Not having any sound increases the WTF factor significantly.

Missy Higgins has a haunting new song in Where I Stood. The simple melody gets into your soul. If you have ever been madly in love and stop to listen to the lyrics be straight, gay, or otherwise they will strike a chord with you too.
Once described as “…the antithesis of the manufactured pop starlet…” Missy sits fine in my view of Australian Indie Music. One of the things I love most of her music is the fact she still has her accent when she sings. I hear her know without a doubt that she is Australian. While I am sure some will mistake the origin of her accent, that doesn’t matter. The fact it hasn’t been removed during in a million dollars of overproducing makes this music real for me.
You can listen to Missy’s latest album On a Clear Night, which includes Where I Stood on her website: www.missyhiggins.com I couldn’t find a bad track on the entire album and will soon be ordering a copy for myself.
Below are several YouTube clips of other songs of her from previous releases. They are great and deserve a listen. Once you do I think you be as smitten as I am.
